How do I find the correct bearing for my application?

You can find the correct bearing in several ways. If you know the bearing number, simply enter it into the search bar. If you don't have the part number, use the Search by Size tool and enter the inside diameter (ID), outside diameter (OD) and width to find matching bearings. You can also use the category filters to narrow down your results by bearing type, making it easier to find the right product for your application.

Can you help me identify a bearing or oil seal?

What do the numbers and markings on a bearing mean?

Bearing numbers identify the bearing's size and design. Suffixes such as 2RS, ZZ and C3 indicate features like seals, shields or internal clearance.

What's the difference between 2RS, ZZ and open bearings?

2RS bearings have rubber seals for better protection, ZZ bearings have metal shields for lower friction, and open bearings have no seals or shields for applications requiring external lubrication.

What does C2, C3, C4 and C5 clearance mean?

C3, C4 and C5 bearings have greater internal clearance than standard bearings, making them suitable for high-speed or high-temperature applications. They may feel looser when new, which is normal. Unless your existing bearing is marked C3, C4 or C5, you should replace it with a standard clearance bearing. C2 bearings have less internal clearance than standard and should only be used where specified.

What temperature will oil seals work at?

Nitrile rubber oil seals, the most commonly found seals in engines, gearboxes and general industrial applications, have a working temperature range of -22°C to +100°C (-22°F to 212°F).

How do I measure a bearing correctly?

Measure the inside diameter (ID), outside diameter (OD) and width in millimetres. Digital callipers provide the most accurate results.
