SKF SIJ..ES Series Rod End Bearings: This series is classed as rod end bearings requiring maintenance. Comprising of sliding contact surfaces of steel against steel these rod end bearings are unsealed and require maintenance from time to time in the form of re-lubrication via the re lubrication point in the side of the head, this will serve to extend it's life cycle. Dependent on installation design the lubricant may also be passed through the housing or spindle directly into the bearing at any point around the groove which has small holes to direct the lubricant onto the mating surfaces. These are metric sized rod end bearings. Sizes 12 to 50mm are made of heat treatable C45V steel, sizes 60 to 100mm are made from EN-GJS-400-15 Steel and will operate within -50deg C to +200 deg C. Available in Right or Left hand threads, the Left hand threaded version has a letter L in the part number to denote the difference. SIJ series from 16-20mm have an oil hole for lubrication, sizes 25mm to 100mm are provided with a grease nipple. Application: Suitable for hydraulic cylinders, the slotted shank enables the rod end to be secured by tightening bolts. Benefits: Re-lubricate-able |
