SKF GE..TXGR Series Spherical Plain Bearings: This series is classed as maintenance free radial spherical plain bearings. Comprising of sliding contact surfaces of X17 CrNi16-2 stainless steel against PTFE impregnated fabric these spherical plain bearings are unsealed and require no maintenance but provision for protecting the bearing from environmental contaminants should be made. These are metric sized spherical plain bearings produced in 3 sizes only , 12mm bore, 15mm bore and 17mm bore. Application: Suitable for very heavy, constant direction loads, where low friction is required; limited suitability for alternating loads, shock loads. A characteristic of SKF steel / against PTFE impregnated fabric spherical plain bearings is the intentionally fractured outer ring enabling it to be sprung apart to insert the ball, thus care needs to be taken when mounting spherical plain bearings with a fractured or split outer ring, it is essential that the joint is positioned at 90 degrees to the direction of load.
